Steves been playing Red Dead Redemption non stop these days, so I all I see, hear and dream about are cowboys. So I drew him one on the tablet.

Been drawing here and there lately and managed to get this out of my brain.

I liked it so much I decided to go on a Chinese zodiac kick and drew up a tiger on last night. Not quite happy with it, so I might redraw and a make it a bit different.

A lot of fun! I can't wait to draw the pig!

I've also been puttering around with the Chips design from Fish 'n Chips

Then I finished an old project! Yeah for getting stuff done!

Its a little different then how I usually work. I pieced the the layout together in photoshop and worked with many layers. I really like how busy the background is, a lot to look at!

I've been trying to finish one older non completed a week and this was last weeks...I"m already behind :P

I'm really happy with how it finished up. I haven't used illustrator in a couple months and was expecting to be a bit rusty, but this just flowed up quite nicely.

Its from fake prom that held in august each year in Toronto. Every year theres a theme and two years ago it was Space. This is what Steve and wore.

I've been trying to draw everyday now and I ended up doodling a page of various girls. Heck, I liked it so much I tossed it into photoshop and coloured that sucker. One of the chickees looks like avatar type, so I coloured her blue. Otherwise, everyone is from my brrraaaaiiiiinnnn.

I started drawing some cute chirstmas girls and I'm currently colouring them too, but heres the sketches. I'm going digital with them...my poor markers are drying up.

I'm trying something a little different with this one. I've watercoloured a simple bg for her, I'm unsure if I should risk markers or just continue painting....hmmm decisions.

Sexy demon girl, can't go wrong. Again just praticing my line work. I'm gonna try and colour her up tomorrow using photoshop...or maybe my markers...we'll see.

I love sailor moon. I used to come home at lunch in high school to watch it on YTV. Just a doodle from memory in a weirdish style. I like it tho.

I think I draw too many chicks, so I'm starting to draw guys with tiny dogs. They always make me laugh when I see them and these are just some examples I've seen. Plus this way, I get to draw something cute :P

Start with trendy west side guy. He owns a pug and check out his retro tshirt. He obviouisly artsy...probably a graphic designer or flash programmer.

Pugs are trendy now.

Shih Tzus are the breed of choice of those who ride scooters. They're usually fat and have many dogs. This is Wayne and hes taking Darlene's dogs out while he goes out for a pack of smokes.

I really like how this one came out. I think I'll have a really fun time colouring him.

I finished this today too. Its been kicking around the computer for a month or so and I took the initiative and finished it.

Daisy girl was my first one. I drew her up last night.

I like how Tulip girl is just standing there naked. I tried to capture a feeling or mood with the association with the flower.

Tulips just stand there.

Roses are sedective and thats why shes showing a wee bit more.

I'm going to a boat cruise next weekend and Marion came up with the idea of a 'nautical' theme.

I instantly began dreaming of what I would wear...

I love this concept, but it might be over the top. I really love the idea and I have most of the outfit already.

I then thought, maybe a trocial touristy theme and best of all, I own this dress so all I would need are shoes.

Then I drew Marion. She briefly showed me what she was wanting to wear.

In response to Marion's comment on my last bee girl post.

I started with this one because I wanted to draw a curvy, pinupish bee lady. She had to have the bee hive.

Marion loves when I draw extremely obese people and I think when she mentioned 'fat', what she really wanted was this.

Finally just a fun one. I like the direction, but the final needs some work. Not happy with the hands at all, but I need to go to bed and its fixable later on.

I drew this like four or five years ago and its based on a true story.

I was coming home on the streetcar one night and I looked into this small parkette field and there, in the moonlight, was a field of raccoons eating grass or frolicking in dew...whatever.

I was so inspired, I drew them in all their hunchbacked glory.

I decided to take that and turn it into a superhero duo; the girl is Chips and the cat is Fish.

The work days doodles

What week would be complete without me posting my boredom doodles?

Atleast it shows I can be productive and it warms me up for what I draw at night.

This took me all day today. The placement of what to do next in an empty spot and connect it to the rest of the picture really made me stick with it. I find it quite interesting.

Then yesterday, I started dreaming about creating a bunch of minions to do the things I don't really like doing. I also added a bit of my friends jobs so they could focus on what they love to do instead of drudging along in what they have to do.

I made a ninja cause I figured he could come in handy.

Girl sketchies done over the weekend

I was sick with a bad chest cold this weekend and it greatly limited what I was able to get done.

I managed to cough out a couple girlies

I wanted to try something with a really smooth line and thus she was created. I used a felt marker and then remembered that my felt marker bleeds when used with markers, so I used pencils crayons instead.

Something a little different.

Found my brush pen and drew a brush beach bum girl. My decision to use markers to colour this drawing was ill fated because the light tan I was using to colour her skin, the tip SNAPPED off and she remains unfinished until I get the chance to buy another marker.

I've been teaching myself how to use illustrator to better my skills and get a job that actually has 'art' in the title.

Well, I got frustrated on Monday night and coloured this piece in photoshop instead of banging my head against the wall with illustrator.

The job I was working on had Salem in it, so I felt like drawing witches.

I drew this girl with big hair and a cat (to be posted in a moment) and my friend Marion suggested that I draw ladies with beehives.

And finally my horoscope that was in the paper on the 13th. I'm been feeling a little down in my job and finiacial situation and this made me feel a little better...plus it gave me an excuse to draw kitties.

So my inbetween job I've got to pay the bills while I ready my portfolio to search for a real job gives me a lot of time to sketch while I wait.

Its one of the main reasons I stay.

That and I get weekends off.

Like a real job...only I'm not paid all that well.

One day...

The scan didn't come out all that well, but I did buy the sketchbook at the dollar store...so I'm sure the grade isn't that wonderful to scan. Oh well, its a dollar mistake.

I love pugs and so I draw them with weird little girls. I was actually designing a couple characters for a walk cycle I was planning to do. I figured animal walk and a human walk together? Bonus...

I painted up this gem for Steve's mom for Easter. She was nice enough to send me a christmas gift this year and since I had her boy for the holidays, I'd send her something a little special for the holidays.

Be nice, I don't paint things that often...but I should :)

Missed the Love Boat by one day

I gave myself a little art task last night. Seeming how it was the day of love, I chose to draw up five different scenes of love. I will eventually colour them...I put em in the to do pile.

The product of love and of course I chose one my most favourite animals to draw.

The lust love and just another reason for me to draw sexy ladies. Ladies are fun to draw especially in heart shaped lingerie.

The commercialization of love. The best thing about Valentines day ending is the ending of cheesey jewelry commercials. I've been watching way too much tv lately, so I know this...

I once owned a turtle and his favourite thing to do was sit beneath his plastic palm tree. I think he loved it.

I'm sick.

Yesterday I had no voice and a fever, destroying all hope of going to Bobby Chiu's subway sketches.

Maybe next week.

I broke out the goauche and attempted to paint some stuff up.

that's me and all the sludge inhabiting my throat. I like how it came out (paint wise), but I think I would have developed the brain and sludge a little more. Got me comfortable (as comfortable as I can get with goauche) with painting again.

This one of my best friends in the whole world as Super Holly. Inspired from a photo I found from Comic Book con. I mistakenly added watercolour to goauche and the world did not blow up. Not did it destroy the piece.

My teacher was WRONG!

You can add goauche and watercolour together..tho the lasting nature of it will determine if I try it again.

I'm going to go lay down and try and get better.

Last night I was looking out my window. I saw a cute hooker (cute from a far) walking with an umbrella trying to stand on the corner. The other uglier, fatter and methy hookers chased her away.

Then a random doodle of a girl poking a cat.

A rough rotation of Little Red. I have to change somethings now that I can see it all placed together. Does it look too generic?

How could you not love peanuts?

I discovered they are the perfect snack. So I drew a picture of a girl sitting on a peanut.

Props to Mr. Peanut...mmmm tasty!

Then a doodle page of Little Red and the Wolf. Ink splotches on watercolour paper.

Just a warm up I did and I liked it so I finished it. I think I'd change how I drew the hair...maybe I'll try drawing it again after work.

Stolen Tablet = priceless time wasted

John was out tonight so I stole his tablet and drew and scribbled and painted to my hearts content.

I played around with the oil paint feature...heavy influence from The Incredibles Art book I'm reading right now.

I'm still getting used to drawing and not looking down. Its like grade eleven art class again and Mr. Vanwart telling us to not look at our paper and draw, but capture what our eye is seeing. I guess I need to reach further into my mind's eye and be able to draw it.

That and study dog anatomy further. Geesh! The dust and rust and kinks I need to work out.

Sorry for the lack of posts, I'm currently in the middle of trying to find another job.

Little Red

I'm going to try and draw a different subject a week. Keep me on my toes, you know, that sort of thing.

This week I'm going to focus on Little Red Riding Hood. I really got into that painting I had done and I think I can come up with some really strong pieces.

Got bored at work and this is what I drew on my break.

Just some exploration of character designs.

Comic Book con was super fun. I got to meet a lot of new people and draw a few commissions.

(Please excuse the bad quality, I took pictures of the commissions)

I was a bargain price for four girls and a group shot; a random person compared it to the babysitters club...I can see it!

I really enjoyed this piece; Its darker then what I usually tend to do, but I'm trying to get out of the cute phase.

I was then asked to join a contest where you had to create something cute, but deadly. Sadly, I did not win, but received a free copic marker. Hurrah!

I had another commission as well, but I didn't get to take a picture.

I've been sketching while sitting at my table, but I'm soooooo tired. I'll put up tomorrow after I've had a long nap.

I wanted to place something up tonight before I went to bed. I really don't know my schedule for the weekend.

I do plan on drawing at the table, so hopefully some new pieces will pop up before Monday.

Its a wee bit darker then what I usually do, but I like. Maybe I'll do some scary fairy tales or something.

Endless possibilities.

Tick Tock Tick Tock

The hour grows closer and there is still so much to do! That will teach me for leaving things until the last minute.

One day I'll learn.

So with a lot of things still left to print off (hopefully ready by Friday, cross your fingers for me), I'll leave you with something I didn't leave until last minute.

I wanted to assemble a little flipbook that told a story as you flipped along. The story follows a little girl and her Teddy Bear. I still have my Teddy bear and its always been there for me. I'm sure a lot you out there remember a similar toy that remand at your side constant.
